DECEMBER 2008

WEEK OF DECEMBER 1st THROUGH DECEMBER 7th


We start the month of December with great news from our friend's the "G's" They received the "CALL" yesterday!!!!!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhh........... We are truly happy for them.... They are having a BOY. He was born in January 2008. They will be traveling soon. We wish them a safe and happy travel.


On the other hand, we are waiting (still) to get our call. This process, unfortunately, has gotten the best of me. I feel tired, sad, and angry. Angry at the not knowing what's going on in Russia. The Ministry and the judges keep changing their regulations, but unfortunately, they keep changing in a way that affects the future adoptive parents. They keep making things harder and harder. Sometimes I truly believe that they do not want us to adopt, which is very sad. I pray to God and our Angels, that they will help us find the strength we need to keep going. We have already reached the 18 month mark, since our paperwork left to Russia. The waiting is the worst part....it can get to be excruciating. I know that the wait has gotten to Mauricio too, but he is a quiet man, and he tries not to upset me even more that what I already am. I tell you, I don't know what I would do without him. He is the love of my life. He is my best friend and the pillar in which I can lean on with my eyes closed :) Well, enough of that......
I send an email to Tver on Sunday asking to see if they had any new information and this is what they had to say (below):

Dear Yadira and Mauricio,

The matter is that we don’t issue referrals to adoptive families, it is the duty of the adoption center, and we have no information of when they will select a referral for you. When we have any news, we’ll let you know.

Dear Alexey:

We hope this email finds you well. The purpose of this email is to request information in regards to our referral. As you are aware, it has been a month since we were registered with the Tver Adoption Center (October 28th), but we have not heard anything since, and we wanted to know if there are any news that you can share with us.

Also, there is a very important question that we would like to ask you and we hope that you can answer it, do you know if there is a possibility that we might be called to travel in December??? Or do you think that we are going to have to wait until January 2009 to travel??? As always, your assistance is truly appreciated.

Well, as you can see, they really don't have any news. I want to truly believe that our dream of becoming parents will become true one day. Please, keep us in your prayers.
