Waiting
I haven't met you yet or seen your face, but in my heart you hold a place. My hopes grow with each passing day, even though you're miles away. I know you're there waiting for me, as I am here waiting to see, the child God has sent from above, to make me a mother and share all my love.

FEBRUARY 2009

Things continue to be crazy in the Guillen household. Between packing and weighting the suitcases, and then having to rethink and repack some things (sorry Mauri), trying to make sure we are not forgetting anything. We bought some cute outfits for Antonina. We hope that they will fit her. We are trying to estimate what size she is based on her current weight (about 14 pounds) so we purchase for 9 months and 12 months, but the truth is that we would not know for sure until we meet her and we take some measurements. We are waiting for paperwork to arrive today and tomorrow. We have been using Fedex so much in the last few days. Today, we are expecting the 18 Apostilles we sent to Tallahassee and tomorrow our passports along with the visas. We also expecting the warranty deed to be sent back from Tallahassee, one its been Apostilled and Incumbent. Mauri has to run to the police station today because yesterday I realized that his FBI fingerprint clearance will expire on February 18, and we need a "fresh" FBI clearance for court. Mine expire on March 16, but I pray to God that court will be past us by that time. You see, fingerprints expire every 90 days, along with our medicals. Some things are valid for one year, while others for 90 days.

My brother-in-law Nelson was so kind as to let us borrow his Vonage account so we can call home via internet. He installed and tested the software for us. Thanks Nelson.

Things are also crazy at work, there so much to leave ready before the trip. I am not getting to much sleep these days. Time goes so fast, that I don't seem to have enough time to do all the things that I have to, but God will provide whatever we need. Well, that's all for now, I will post again before we leave for Russia on saturday. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Dear Yadi and Mauri, first of all let me tell you I love you both very much. I feel so happy for both of you at this moment because you are about to receive the most beautiful gift from God. All the new stages in our life are difficult, as humans we all resist change because of our nature but I know that you have longed for this moment for so long, that you are ready for the changes God has set for you. I want you to know that you will always have my undeniable support and blessing in every decision you make. I am so ready to be a Tia and I am eagerly waiting for the moment to meet your little angel sent from above. I hope this is an enjoyable experience and although there are things that you cannot change, there are things that you have complete control over, and these are the ones that matter. Your strenght to endure this wait has is admirable and you have been truly blessed. I love you, and always wish you the best!
Now hurry and bring our little one home :)

Sincerely,
Mary

Hi Yadi & Mauri,

I am so happy for you both!!! It's been a long time coming, and finally, after a lengthy wait, you have received the CALL. Just know that the feeling of uncertainty might be relevant upon your first meeting with the child, know that the answer you both seek will be in your heart. Trust your heart!!

I can't wait to see you both next Saturday!! :)

PS... Are you going to post a pic of my baby Buddy?? :)

Love you both,
Claudia

Ahh...the joys of preparing for your first trip! Don't worry, it will all come together in the end. If you forget something (with the exception of your documents-hold on to those for dear life!), the staff here can help you find something if you need it.

You're just days away from starting your journey to Russia and ultimately meeting your little girl. These days will go quickly and the days of your trip will go even more quickly. I won't lie, your time with your little one will go too fast so enjoy every moment.

We wish you the very best. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with your family today and each day to come. Hang in there! I miss talking to you!

p.s. we have the pizza place menu "somewhat" translated, we'll have the map of Tver (with our added notes) and a little something else waiting for you guys when you get here. Oh and the ruble is doing great these days so be sure to buy you some souvenirs! The lobby in the main building of the hotel has some nice things but there is even more variety (and comparable prices) at the Matroyshka shop on the pedestrian street.
